Measurement, not decoration.
Most plotters shade the bottom and leave you to trust it. ARK shows high-resolution S-102 bathymetry on official NOAA charts, and every pixel knows how sure it is.
Where the survey runs thin, the chart says so: caution hatching marks low-confidence bottom, and a dedicated uncertainty view shows the whole error field. Confidence is part of the chart, not a disclaimer under it.
